I love Cameo’s name. When I first spoke with her, I thought she said Kemi O, I was absolutely delighted thinking she was a fellow Nigerian…and so I made her spell her name out letter by letter and we ended up with Cameo and the first thing i blurted out was like the singer who wore the leather panties. Cameo laughed, a laugh that sounded like the twinkling of bells heralding the coming of worship. I laughed with her and we bonded over the phone with jokes about her name and her desires for our photography.

When Aba and I met Cameo + Todd we were struck by their obvious desire and love for one another which we strove to capture, we are delighted to be their photographers and can’t wait to capture their gorgeous wedding this fall.

Kemi + Jeremiah | NY Engagement Session

Prayer, bible study, night vigils and even more prayer filled Kemi’s life, her father had just opened his own church and as the first child she served God humbly in his household. One day her friend insisted Kemi needed more than the spiritual – Kemi resisted, she had her love for God and it nourished her soul in a way no other love could.

Her friend persisted and kept talking about an equally God-fearing young man would be a perfect match for Kemi. Eventually though she agreed to just a phone call, at least to keep her well-meaning friend of her back.

That one phone call led to many phone calls, it led to vacations together, it led to a love that was sustained by the Almighty himself – it led to Jeremiah’s proposal and Kemi’s acceptance. Today she has abundant love that nourishes her both in the physical and the spiritual.

Aba and I were glad to be in New york over the 4th of July weekend, we got to hang out with inspiring couple, Kemi + Jeremiah, we indeed are fortunate to be photographing their union this summer.

In the heart of NY, stands a couple whose love is strong and true. They are Kemi + Jeremiah.

Their love blazes like a shield around them, keeping them protected from life’s fierce winds..love the sentimentality here

Their love is like a tight grasp of the hands, it never lets go, yup we could not pry their hands apart

Jeremiah’s love for Kemi, keeps her secure and confident, it holds her up and is her pride, love this shot, the carriage guy was nice enough to lend us his carriage

Their love for one another is safe and sure – love the yellow nyc cabs, noticed most of them are ford models

Their love keeps them in each other’s arms no matter the distance they have to cross – i absolutely heart this series

Kemi’s love for Jeremiah is seen in her joy and absolute contentment to be in his arms – i heart this too

They like to share their love with others, with smiles and peace signs – only in nyc a buddisht friendly monk

But they always still end up in each other’s arms

This was their assistant for the day, she was willing to cross the brooklyn bridge for them, despite her fear of heights

Together they trust – a movie was being filmed as we walked by

Tiffany + Ian | Engaged | University of Maryland

Ian thought he was going to just another party – an evening of dancing and great food – that’s all it was supposed to be another evening of food and drink till he met Tiffany, suddenly the party became more interesting, the music slowed and swirled around him, he felt heady like he drunk wine, he had the urge to loosen his tie, to smooth his hair, to appear to this gorgeous lady, that he was cool and attractive. In a trance- like state he walked up to her and chatted for a bit, she was with her friend so it was easier to make conversation, after a few laughs, some more drinks, he asked for her number.

Tiffany thought she was going to just another party with her friend – an evening filled with laughter and drink – that’s all it was supposed to be another evening filled with perfume and shoe-watching till Ian came over, she was suddenly glad she took that second glance at the mirror, she was stunning. When he asked for her number, she smiled and graciously gave it to him.

After the first telephone call, the first date, the first kiss, they were inseparable joined at the hip. Fast forward to seven years, press play here, the present, Ian took Tiffany to the place where they met – university of Maryland – he took her to the chapel steps, with a ring in his hand. He asked her to be his wife, Tiffany graciously accepted.

Joy + Daniel | Engaged

Love is like a smack on the head, it leaves you woozy and shaken to your very core. That’s how Daniel felt when he saw Joy’s picture, when he heard of her beauty and virtues from his sister’s best friend – he was captivated. His desire to learn more about her grew, he asked her sister to introduce them – She did… Joy received a text message from her sister stating she knew of an eligible bachelor suitable for her, Joy was a bit intrigued especially when he emailed her the VERY next day.

They began communicating via email and phone and realized they both loved crablegs and sushi…not… well they had a lot of core values in common. They took it to the next level and starting communicating via webcam (woohoo, eye candy!). Their love grew over the distance and the urge to meet led to an impromptu vacation in London, it was so enjoyable and memorable that it led to a conviction – a deeper and mutual understanding, it led Daniel to propose and Joy well she gladly accepted. Aba & I pray joy, peace, and fruitfulness will never depart from you both. May the love that binds you always be sweet and pure.

Chioma + Seun : Studio Session

This past weekend, we headed over to Dotun’s studio to take some awesome shots of Chioma and Seun, you can view their engagement session here. Dotun is a talented photographer and was very gracious in assisting us with setting up et al. It was my first time shooting in a studio and I was very nervous, but he helped soothe the butterflies. It really was an awesome experience, we got a chance to play with Dotun‘s fabulous collection of Canon gear, infact I ended up shooting with his 1d Mark III. He really was so cool about it too, till I tried to slip it in my bag…(kidding)…His son is so stinking cute and entertained us just by being there. Chioma and Seun looked very lovely in their traditional Nigerian outfits. We all teased Chioma over her “Madam Kofo” styled gele, which she tied herself. She is so talented. Aba put on his clown hat and made us all laugh by suggesting wild and fun poses, which the couple enjoyed thoroughly.

After the session we let the couple pick their favorite picture, it will be placed on the table by the guest book at the reception entrance, I am glad, more reviews of our awesome photography skills and hopefully more 2010 wedding bookings. Since posts are way better with great looking pictures, enjoy this post with the eye candy and have an ultimately blessed week ahead.
