As I sat alone in my mezzanine seat surrounded by happy children, crying babies, harried mothers and complacent fathers, we collectively gasped at each juggling act, laughed with every dog act, held our breaths as the trapeze artists flew from platform to platform and laughed when the clowns came on stage, in unison we clapped till our hands hurt, laughed till sides ached and whistled out cat calls at each breath-taking performance.
As I sat alone in my mezzanine seat, watching each incredible new act display their super-fantastic talents, a chord was struck in my mind, before each new act, I couldn’t help comparing each act, wondering if the next would be better than the last, in my mind, I envisioned the new and next acts before they had even begun, and quite simply, whilst gawking at the ringside, it seemed to be that our very own lives on earth is just like the circus.
Each act was projected with utter confidence, intense focus and a desire to satisfy the ever-watchful audience, the talent present had been cultivated to a point of perfection. Enthralled at this point, I asked myself, as I ask you now, what are we doing with the talent we have brought to this life, would we sit on it and hide it under our beds or will we cultivate it to perfection till it shines Matt 5:14 says “we are the light of the world… ” The world is holding their breath, waiting for you to shine.
Unfortunately cameras were not allowed but since pictures are always better than words, here is a picture from the circus taken by my awesomelicious Iphone.
